Biography
Dr. Kapel received his medical degree from Weill Cornell University Medical College. He completed his internship and residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he was also Chief Resident, and then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at The University of Miami.
He has been practicing clinical gastroenterology and endoscopy for over 20 years in Connecticut. He has been involved in a variety of clinical research activities, with a focus on Eosinophilic esophagitis, Barrett’s esophagus, Celiac disease, and adherence to physician practice and endoscopy guidelines. His interests include colon cancer screening, as well as reflux (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel disease.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and has been selected as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly for the New York Metro Area.
